Fawnskin: On the Lake

Located at nearly 7,000 feet, Big Bear Lake provides countless ways to enjoy the water. Imagine setting out at sunrise in your kayak, surrounded by the silhouettes of mountains turning rose and gold, easing your way through liquid reflections of the sky.

Or maybe you like going boating with your friends. The north shore features several marinas, including Captain John's Fawn Harbor & Marina, the North Shore Landing and West Boat Ramp to the west (towards the dam), and the East Boat Ramp. The Lighthouse Resort Camp and Landing is the only surviving camp from the 1920s on the North Shore. Many of these provide rentals of not just boats, but also kayaks and paddleboards.

If you're new to the water or prefer exploring with an organized group, the Discovery Center provides kayak and canoe tours during the warmer months.
